Frozen Fools Riding Challenge
January 1st marks the beginning of the Annual Frozen Fools Challenge. This cold-weather bicycle-riding fundraiser derives its name from the fact it ends on April Fool’s Day (April 1st) and challenges participants to ride their bicycles outdoors on as many days as they can during the first three months of the year. Funds are raised by people sponsoring Challenge participants and then split equally with ½ being used to help support the Anna Schenker Memorial Scholarship and the remainder going to the Janesville Velo Club. The JVC uses the funds to support bicycling-related advocacy efforts and improve cycling opportunities in southern Wisconsin.
